Chris and David founded Golden Sun Electric in 2013, to pursue our vision: high quality, low overhead solar installations. (Also, to have a good time doing it)
We really like this stuff! We are strong solar advocates and firmly believe that clean and safe solar energy will play a significant role in the world’s energy future.
We also support Grid Alternatives, a Non-Profit Organization committed to making solar power and jobs accessible to those that need them most.
Between us, we have designed and installed over 700 solar electric systems, ranging from 1000 watts to over a million watts. We are both California Certified General Electricians and SunPower Certified Advanced Installers.
Meet the Team
We are a team of dedicated professionals, ready to bring you solar energy!
Chris Bookout has been an electrician for two decades, working as a commercial and residential electrician before transitioning to the solar industry in 2001. Before the founding Golden Sun Electric, he was the production manager for a large local solar company, responsible for quality control and schedules for hundreds of PV systems. He fills that role today for Golden Sun Electric.
David Provine has been a Building and Electrical Contractor since 1983, working exclusively in the solar industry since 2008. He pioneered the concept of solar powered homes in Northern California. Prior to founding Golden Sun Electric, he worked as the primary designer for a large California solar company. He is certified by the North American Board of Energy Practitioners as a PV Installation Professional.
